Data Warehouse Architect (contract)

Job Summary We are seeking a visionary and highly experienced technical leader to take ownership of the end-to-end design, development, documentation, and quality assurance of enterprise-level technical architectures. In this pivotal role, you will serve as the central coordinator among diverse teams of technical architects, ensuring cohesive and integrated design outcomes. You will drive the strategic planning and implementation of data warehousing solutions, data marts, and data stores, while championing data availability, integrity, and governance across the organization. Responsibilities Provide overall responsibility for the design, development, documentation, and quality of technical architecture supporting functional design requirementsCoordinate the design efforts of multiple technical architects to ensure all components integrate and function cohesivelyStrategically design and implement data warehouses, data marts, and data stores aligned with organizational goalsEnsure high levels of data availability, reliability, and performance across all data infrastructureDefine and enforce data standards, models, and best practices for warehouse architecturesCollaborate with business stakeholders to translate functional requirements into scalable technical solutionsConduct architecture reviews and provide guidance to ensure consistency and quality across all technical deliverablesIdentify and mitigate architectural risks, bottlenecks, and technical debt proactivelyDevelop and maintain comprehensive architectural documentation, blueprints, and roadmapsStay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve architectural strategies Skills Deep expertise in data warehouse architecture, data modeling, and enterprise data managementStrong knowledge of data mart design, ETL/ELT processes, and data integration patternsProficiency in defining and implementing data governance frameworks and data standardsExcellent ability to coordinate and lead cross-functional teams of technical architectsStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with a strategic, big-picture mindsetExceptional communication skills with the ability to present complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiencesExperience with cloud-based data platforms and distributed computing environmentsSolid understanding of database performance tuning, optimization, and scalability techniquesAbility to manage competing priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment Experience 10+ years of experience in technical architecture, data engineering, or a related field5+ years of hands-on experience designing and implementing enterprise data warehouse solutionsProven track record of leading architecture teams and coordinating large-scale technical design effortsDemonstrated experience defining data standards, models, and governance policies at an enterprise levelExperience working in complex, multi-stakeholder environments with cross-functional teams Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical disciplineRelevant certifications in data architecture, cloud platforms, or enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF) are highly desirable This is a rare opportunity to shape the technological foundation of a forward-thinking organization, influencing critical decisions that will drive data strategy and innovation for years to come.
