Data Strategy, Senior Principal
About the Role
As the Senior Principal, Data Strategy, you will work with global clients undergoing a data-driven transformation (DDT). You will accelerate and drive the DDT strategy, partnering with Digital directors, client teams, and practice capabilities to ensure the agency remains an industry leader in digital thinking, execution, and value realization through data-driven solutions.
This role involves leading the definition of data-driven learning agendas, use cases for technology adoption, data strategy, and owning partner evaluation, selection, and integration. You will also activate data-driven marketing solutions on client accounts, balancing strategic and executional responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Lead the definition of Digital, Data, and Technology learning agendas.
- Ensure data strategy and measurement frameworks align, secure client approval, and drive adoption.
- Collaborate with planners, clients, strategy directors, and digital directors to define audience frameworks and data strategies for brands, leveraging relevant data partners, publishers, and first-party data.
- Grow the use of DMP and CDP in data-driven use cases, campaigns, and general adoption by connecting to a wider spectrum of datasets, particularly 1P and 2P data.
- Support the development of technology-based platforms and applications as a data strategist, providing thought leadership alongside Publicis Sapient data and tech talent and partner agencies.
- Define, implement, measure, and activate data-driven use cases.
- Act as the data technology and strategy subject matter expert, ensuring the technology ecosystem fits together, leading implementation of changes, and suggesting optimizations to improve data fluidity and reduce data loss.
- Provide guidance on utilizing data to inform annual planning insights and evolve the planning process.
- Lead the development of education programs on Data for internal and client audiences.
- Provide data thought leadership and communicate data strategy needs as inputs into the media partnership strategy.
- Establish and lead a testing program to evaluate new vendors and partners for data and technology delivery improvements.
- Lead execution of data-driven marketing programs across agencies, supporting digital directors in developing data strategies, setting best practices, and educating planning teams.
- Provide strategic direction on data-driven thought leadership for media partners.
- Embed new data-driven approaches and case studies into the Human Experience Planning framework and agency collateral.
- Drive new business pitches and prototyping work.
Qualifications & Skills
- Strong data and data-driven marketing knowledge, with the ability to interpret client business and technical requirements and translate them into actionable learning agendas and strategies.
- Expertise in data types, sources, partners, and data quality, with experience leveraging data in media and non-media contexts for activation, measurement, and strategic applications.
- Excellent storytelling and communication skills, simplifying complex digital concepts into core ideas, themes, insights, and recommendations.
- Ability to architect innovative and effective digital marketing strategies, communication plans, and integrated solutions.
- Curate a culture of learning in digital tools, case studies, new partners, and techniques.
- High sense of ownership, drive, and agenda-setting capabilities.
- Lead teams of activation and content creators in brainstorming and refining responses to briefs.
- Strong team player with a can-do attitude, able to simplify or dive into detail as needed.

Pay
Base pay range: $175,000 - $250,000 + bonus. The range reflects compensation currently in use at Publicis Sapient and may vary based on location and specific experience, including additional bonus and equity components.
Locations
This role is available across multiple locations in North America, including but not limited to: New York, Chicago, Boston, Atlanta, and Washington DC.
