Data Strategist
Responsibilities
The Enterprise Data Strategist/Architect will analyse existing data architectures and model and understand at enterprise level, including identification of gaps, overlaps, and dependencies among capabilities and related programs.
Aid NATO and the larger Core Services Development Team to develop, champion, and align NATO’s objectives and goals to a enterprise data strategy, aligning data assets with overall business objectives and creating roadmaps for data utilization and infrastructure.
Apply experience in the Governance layer of Data Strategy to advise on larger data initiatives to enforce data governance policies, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, security, and compliance.
Align with stakeholders at the strategic and operational levels with specific experience as a liaison or ambassador between key stakeholder groups driving data transformation initiatives, translating complex data needs into actionable requirements, and communicating insights effectively.
Analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities, moving beyond basic reporting to actionable insights.
Provide significant expertise in Data Management methodologies coupled with understanding of data technology innovations to help guide the integration of data and its use across a wider enterprise.
Drive large-scale data transformation projects, providing senior-level expertise and advice on data transformation and implementation plans, and lead and drive data teams across the wider alliance.
Implement data security principles, data security concepts, and data security technologies at the enterprise level, preferably in a Military or Defense organization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of function-related experience OR a Higher Secondary education and completed advanced vocational training leading to a professional qualification or professional accreditation with 4+ years of post-related experience.
- Citizenship of one of the NATO member countries.
- Active NATO or National Secret (or higher) clearance.
- Demonstrable data architect experience through the research, analysis, design and definition of broad datasets that deliver business process change of strategic impact.
- Experience shown in complex portfolios, programs, and projects typically greater than six months, in diverse team environments, actively participating in all phases of development gathering of data from diverse sources and carrying out critical thinking to identify and articulate programmatic impacts and risk.
- Demonstrable Data Architecture domain knowledge of information technology solutions and change management as part of a wider Digital Transformation endeavor.
- Demonstrated excellent analytical, problem solving, verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work in team environments (both as a contributor and a leader).
- Able to work fully onsite based on client needs.
Desired
- Program or Project Management experience (Managing Successful Programs (MSP) or Prince II).
- Experience working in NATO at the strategic level.
- NATO CIS experience.
- Understanding of Cloud Computing and associated Data Strategies and Technologies.
- Broad knowledge of CIS capabilities, Cyber Security, and Innovation.
- Broad experience working with military/public at the strategic level.
