About the role
The Data Specialist works with the Incident Management Team (IMT) in Boone, NC, supporting international disaster response efforts.
Responsibilities
- Maintain personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be an effective witness for Him.
- Work on the Incident Management Team (IMT) during a disaster response and support ongoing Disaster Assistance Response Team (DART) operations, primarily in the Information Officer role.
- Monitor response data throughout the duration of a response, ensuring reporting systems and data are being managed accurately in the field and on the IMT.
- Collaborate with the Program Management Team (PMT) in management of DART data, geographic information system (GIS) mapping, monitoring and evaluation (M&E), reporting systems, etc.
- Support staff working on the IMT, ensuring they are fully equipped with all information and tools necessary to successfully fulfill program objectives.
- Write reports about disaster responses, incorporating feedback, information, and data from response leadership, Technical Advisors, Program Management Team (PMT), Awards Management Team (AMT), Finance, and others as necessary.
- Participate in After-Action Review (AAR) facilitation for responses, gathering feedback from key responders and IMT staff and leading discussion-based review sessions.

Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree from four-year college or university in emergency management, international development, or related field and two (2) to three (3) years of Program Management experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- International field experience strongly preferred.
- 12 credit hours of college-level Biblical Studies preferred.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Understanding of data collection, analysis, reporting, and visualization.
- Highly detail oriented and organized with the ability to multitask.
- Pioneering ability to be a self-starter and willing to adapt to changing demands.
