Data Specialist
Job Description
This Product Specialist 2/Data Specialist position is part of the Health Inspection Program (HIP) within the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention, reporting to the Program Manager for HIP. This position will work collaboratively with the Office of Information Technology (also known as MaineIT) to ensure data and systems support are maintained. This position will support HIP, Maine CDC, and provide technical assistance programs to MaineIT. Work will be performed on site or remotely with daily collaboration with team members. Initially, on-site meetings will occur for the first 3 months of orientation. After 3 months, occasional on-site meetings may be required. The team supports the HIP application known as DHE_Tracker for licensing, inspection, enforcement and reporting services.
Requirements
- Required minimum of two years application testing experience.
- Essential skills in developing/writing queries in SQL.
- Competency in analyzing data.
- Performance monitoring experience.
- Put into place quality control plans and identify system improvements.
- Ability to develop and generate custom reports for distribution.
- Strong Communication skills to relay information to non-technical staff.
