Data Solutions Architect SME
About the role
The Department of War seeks a Data Solution Architect SME to lead the modernization of data infrastructure, ensuring national security and unlocking the potential of data in mission-critical environments. Key responsibilities include designing secure, resilient data architectures aligned with zero trust principles, enhancing zero trust data security, establishing robust governance frameworks, and integrating advanced tools to support real-time decision-making and analytics.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver innovative data solutions to improve storage, access, and security of mission-critical information
- Leverage tools like Varonis and Trellix to enhance zero trust data security through advanced access controls, threat detection, and risk mitigation
- Use platforms like BigID, Collibra, and Ohalo to establish robust governance frameworks that enable data classification, lineage tracking, and compliance with regulations
- Integrate tools like Virtru to enforce end-to-end encryption and secure data at rest and in transit
- Modernize legacy pipelines to enable cloud-native, scalable architectures supporting real-time decision-making and advanced analytics
- Provide strategic leadership by developing architecture roadmaps, producing design documentation, and mentoring junior engineers
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience designing, deploying, and configuring data security solutions
- Experience with data security tools, such as Virtru
- Experience with data-centric security models, including maintenance
- Experience designing, implementing, configuring, operating, or testing IT systems or security infrastructure
- Knowledge of DLP solutions and tools, including Trellix, Cisco Email Security Appliance, and Splunk
- Knowledge of Zero Trust principles and solutions
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
Qualifications
- TS/SCI clearance
- Bachelor's degree
- Security+ Certification
Skills
- Expertise in data security tools like Varonis and Trellix
- Understanding of data-centric security models
- Knowledge of DLP solutions and tools
- Experience with Zero Trust principles and solutions
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Pay
The estimated annual salary range for this position is $112,900.00 to $257,000.00 (annualized USD).
