Data Security Engineer
As a senior data security engineer on our team, you’ll be integral to architecting, deploying, and operating security solutions across various DoW clients in the Indo-Pacific. You’ll use your extensive knowledge of data security tools and endpoint detection and response (EDR) to monitor, detect, and respond to potentially malicious cyber behavior that could compromise data, systems, or the mission. You’ll create standard operating procedures and configurations for optimal Zero Trust security posture. You’ll coordinate with a multi-discipline Zero Trust engineering team to recommend enhanced design and operations. You’ll also mentor the next set of advanced cybersecurity engineers to help them grow into our nation’s front line of defense.
Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and configure data security solutions
- Utilize Elastic for visibility and analytics
- Work with Data Loss Prevention (DLP) tools such as Forcepoint, Trellix, or Symantec
- Perform cyber event analytics and workflow management
- Document and diagram workflow processes
- Coordinate with a multi-discipline Zero Trust engineering team to recommend enhanced design and operations
- Mentor advanced cybersecurity engineers
Requirements
- Experience designing, deploying, and configuring data security solutions
- Experience with Elastic for visibility and analytics
- Experience with Data Loss Prevention (DLP) tools such as Forcepoint, Trellix, or Symantec
- Experience with cyber event analytics and workflow
- Experience documenting and diagramming workflow processes
- Secret clearance
- HS diploma or GED
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience designing, deploying, and configuring data security solutions
- Experience working in federal, DoD, or IC agency environments
- Experience managing and maintaining containerization solutions
- Knowledge of Virtru Data Security Platform (DSP) and Kafka
- Knowledge of Trusted Data Format (TDF) and Attribute Based Access Control (ABAC)
- Knowledge of Splunk or Microsoft Sentinel
- Knowledge of federal information security policies, standards, procedures, directives, and frameworks, federal security authorizations, assessment, and risk management processes for enterprise systems
- Top Secret clearance
- Bachelor's degree in an IT, Cybersecurity, or Engineering field
- CISSP, GSE, CASP+ or similar Advanced Security Certifications

Pay
The projected compensation range for this position is $86,900.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD). Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements.

Work models include:
- Remote: Primarily remote, with occasional in-person work at a Booz Allen or customer facility.
- Hybrid: Frequent work from a Booz Allen facility, with potential visits to customer facilities as required by the role.
- Onsite: Work primarily performed at a Booz Allen office or customer facility, collaborating directly with colleagues and customers.
