Description of Responsibilities
- Responsible for the upkeep, configuration, and reliable operation of Linux databases.
- Ensure the security, uptime, performance, and resources of the computers they manage meet the needs of the users.
- Could be focused in one or more of the following areas:
- Maintain the security of Linux database system and is responsible for the integrity of the data and the efficiency and performance of the system.
- Maintain network infrastructure such as switches and routers, and diagnose problems with these or with the behavior of network-attached computers.
- Security administrator is a specialist in computer and network security, including the administration of security devices such as firewalls, as well as consulting on general security measures.
- Responsibilities may also include software change management.
- System programmer creates, modifies, and tests the code, forms, and script that allow computer applications to run. They may also develop and write computer programs to store, locate, and retrieve specific documents, data, and information.
- Perform routine maintenance and upkeep, such as changing backup tapes or replacing failed drives.
- Possesses and applies a comprehensive knowledge across key tasks and high impact assignments.
- Plans and leads major technology assignments.
- Evaluates performance results and recommends major changes affecting short-term project growth and success.
- Functions as a technical expert across multiple project assignments.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Required Degree/Education/Certification
- Qualified under DoD 8140 (Cyber Defense Infrastructure Support Specialist (422)) with either:
- A Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or adjacent discipline.
- Certified in lieu of education: SSCP, GSEC, SecurityX/CASP+, CCNP Security, CCSP, FITSP-O, GFACT certifications.
Required Skills and Experience
- Able to implement, maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize the Linux Servers system to ensure effective security monitoring and incident response.
- Experience with Linux administration and familiarity with Windows server technologies.
- Strong understanding of data management, data routing, and data security principles.
- Experience with the CORA Inspections, and DISA STIG/SRG compliance policies.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong documentation and communication abilities.
Required Citizenship and Clearance
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Must have an active SECRET clearance and be eligible based on investigation type (T5).
Compensation Details
$145,000.00
The compensation range or hourly rate provided is a good faith estimate at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined based on qualifications, experience, skills, internal equity, market conditions, and applicable laws.
