Job Title: Data Scientist (Various Levels)
Location: Fort Meade, MD
Job Description
Oversees technical design, development, and implementation of large projects and/or major software products and solutions for clients/customers. Assists in defining architecture requirements and establishing standards for design and development. Consults with management and clients/customers regarding product feasibility and viability of product plans and designs. Factors emerging technologies and product supportability into design and implementation. Serves as primary technical resource to development team. May act as team leader in prioritizing group tasks, determining individual assignments, and reviewing work of lower-level developers. Provides product demonstrations and participates in trade shows, seminars, industry panels, and user group meetings. Interacts with customers regarding strategies, requirements, problem solving, and support.
Education and Background
Typically has a Bachelor's degree, and 5 or more years of experience, or equivalent relevant work experience; e.g., each year of work experience may be substituted for each year of education required. Manager typically has a Bachelors/Masters Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or a related field.
Required Skills
- Active TS/SCI w/ polygraph required for consideration
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field and 5 years of experience; an advanced degree will be considered in lieu of years of experience
- Proficient in Python
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience with end-to-end workflows/projects
- 3+ years of Defensive Cyber Operations experience
- 3+ years of Machine Learning techniques and statistical model evaluation
Preferred Skills
- Master's degree in relevant field and 4 years of experience
- Demonstrated expertise with R or Python, and SQL to manipulate data and draw insights from large and small data sets
- Exposure to AWS (Amazon Web Services), Cisco (CCNA), and/or STIGs/IAVA, Big Data Platform (BDP)
- Strong background and skills in Linux (Ubuntu, CentOS, RHEL)/Windows/Virtual environments
- Jupyter Notebooks, Network Analysis Tools
