Data Scientist (Level II-IV)

About the role

BTS Software Solutions is seeking a Data Scientist to perform data and computer science analysis in support of customer operations. Primary Location: Annapolis Junction, MD Secondary Locations: Augusta, GA, San Antonio, TX, Oahu, HI, Various locations Clearance Requirement: TS/SCI with Poly Skills.

Responsibilities

• Create and use advanced machine learning algorithms and statistics: regression, simulation, scenario analysis, modeling, clustering etc.
• Develop and implement qualitative and quantitative methods for characterizing, exploring, and assessing large datasets in various states of organization, cleanliness, and structure.
• Translate practical mission needs and analytic questions related to large datasets into technical requirements and assist others with drawing appropriate conclusions from the analysis of such data.
• Work with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment on project goals and deliverables.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of data pipelines and infrastructure.

Requirements

• Experience creating and using advanced machine learning algorithms and statistics: regression, simulation, scenario analysis, modeling, clustering etc.
• Coding knowledge and experience with various languages: Python, Java, C, C++
• Experience as a Data Scientist working to support single or multiple domain areas
• Knowledge of advanced statistical techniques and concepts (regression, properties of distributions, statistical tests and proper usage, etc.)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for coordinating across teams.

Qualifications

• Entry level positions require an Associate's degree plus 7 years of relevant experience, a Bachelor's degree and 5 years, or a Master's Degree plus 3 years of relevant experience.
• Higher positions require up to and including an Associate's degree plus 13 years of relevant experience, a Bachelor's degree and 11 years of relevant experience OR a Master's Degree and 9 years of relevant experience.

Skills

• Experience in Data Processing: Data management and curation, data description and visualization, workflow and reproducibility.
• Experience in Modeling, Inference, and Prediction: Data modeling and assessment, domain-specific consideration.
