Data Scientist Graduate (TikTok-Search) - 2027 Start

About the role

The TikTok Data Science team is responsible for all data science and analytics work, collaborating with key value chains across TikTok, including User Growth, PGC, Content Ecosystem, Social, Creation, Product Infrastructure, Research, and Science. The team's goal is to generate actionable insights from data to help stakeholders make informed decisions. Core tasks include defining metrics, conducting root cause analysis, developing experimentation methodologies, evaluating features and strategies, and performing exploratory analysis to uncover new opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Define success metrics to measure product growth and identify problems through monitoring or forecasting.
• Apply technical expertise in quantitative analysis, experimentation, and data mining to develop strategies for product optimizations.
• Quantify the impact of strategies through causal inference and generate actionable insights via deep-dive analysis.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, and cross-functional teams to influence and execute product strategy.

Requirements

• Individuals completing or who have recently completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science or a related discipline.
• Proficiency in data querying languages and at least one scripting language (e.g., Hive, Python, SQL, R).
• Experience in one or more of the following methods: forecasting, statistical and causal inference, classification methods, A/B testing.
• Strong product sense and structured thinking, with the ability to translate analysis results into business decisions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Internship experience in data science.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams.
• Internship experience at an Internet company.

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $95,000 – $168,000 annually. Compensation may vary based on qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and location. Base pay is part of a total compensation package that may include discretionary bonuses, incentives, and restricted stock units.
