Data Scientist
About the role
The CEMA Dept at Leidos is seeking a talented Data Scientist in Huntsville, AL to join our development team to create unique solutions for complex problems in system security, engineering, and defense domains. As a Data Scientist, you will bring your passion and skills in data analysis and AI/ML to design, build, deploy and maintain mission critical AI/ML solutions that support our customers’ mission objectives.
Responsibilities
- Collection and analysis of data
- Research current and future cyber security threats against systems
- Drive continuous improvement by pushing for changes that improve reliability and velocity
- Contribute to the technical direction of our products and technology stack
- Work with subject matter experts and customer liaisons to define and develop solutions that solve our customers’ problems
Qualifications
- Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical degree along with 2-4 years of relevant experience.
- Experience working full-time in an agile software engineering team environment.
- Strong knowledge of Python programming language.
- Strong Familiarity with both the Scikit Learn and Pytorch framework.
- Experience in conducting guided and exploratory data analysis on large datasets.
- Experience developing AI/ML solutions.
- Knowledge of AI/ML techniques such as supervised, unsupervised, and reinforcement learning and their corresponding strengths and weaknesses.
- Strong written and presentation skills.
- Candidate must live in or be willing to live Huntsville, AL.
- Candidate must be willing to travel approx. 10% each year if necessary — moderate travel to testing locations, typically CONUS.
- Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Top Secret/SSBI Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Final Top-Secret Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical degree.
- Experience with software engineering and should be prepared to demonstrate:
- Strong knowledge of C++ programming language.
- Experience in AI/ML architecture, design, and deployment.
- Experience in software architecture, design, and deployment.
- Experience in developing and deploying AI/ML applications to edge devices.
- Experience in developing and deploying low SWAP AI/ML applications.
- Experience and interest in fundamental networking implementations and concepts.
- Experience with Agile software development, CI/CD toolchains and DevOps (e.g., Atlassian suite, git, Jenkins, Artifactory).
- Experience with the following tools, concepts, and products is a plus:
- Experience deploying and maintaining software products on Windows, Ubuntu, and Red Hat.
- Networking Protocols
- Wireshark
Pay and Benefits
Pay Range $69,550.00 - $125,725.00
