Data Scientist Associate - Data Scientist Sr.

Responsible for conducting basic analysis on various data types to uncover hidden patterns and unknown correlations to support business and management decisions. This includes data mining, data auditing, aggregation, validation, and reconciliation. Build basic reports for management as well as conduct basic hypothesis tests. Utilize analytics and statistical software such as SQL, R, Python, Excel, Hadoop, Tableau, SAS, SPSS, and others to perform analysis and interpret data.

Responsibilities

• Development of analytical solutions to solve high-value business problems.
• Utilize analytical tools and data management skills to provide actionable business intelligence.
• Build business knowledge across the organization and utilize knowledge to assist in the development of meaningful analyses.
• Help identify, acquire, and provide management of data needed for various analytic studies.
• Assist in the development of components of predictive and prescriptive systems to optimize operations and support strategic initiatives.
• Apply data visualization tools to large data sets to enhance data understanding.
• Acquire knowledge of business processes and data acquisition practices from business units using disparate systems.
• Collaborate with technology partners to develop data acquisition and data management practices.
• Help develop concise, meaningful written reports and provide oral presentations of information, reporting dashboards that meet business needs for status, trends, and variances.
• Collaborate with technology and business units to operationalize meaningful reports and dashboards.

Requirements

Minimum requirements for each level:

• SG 06 Data Scientist Associate:
  • Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, operations research, statistics, economics, data science, computer science, or related technical field is required.
  • No additional experience is required.
  • An equivalent combination of education and related experience may be considered.
• SG 07 Data Scientist:
  • Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, operations research, statistics, economics, data science, computer science, or related technical field is required.
  • 2 years of relevant work experience is required.
  • An equivalent combination of education and related experience may be considered.
• SG 08 Data Scientist Sr.:
  • Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, operations research, statistics, economics, data science, computer science, or related technical field is required.
  • 5 years of relevant work experience is required.
  • An equivalent combination of education and related experience may be considered.

Pay

• SG 06 Data Scientist Associate salary starting between: $74,551–$93,189
• SG 07 Data Scientist salary starting between: $87,633–$109,544
• SG 08 Data Scientist Sr. salary starting between: $98,993–$128,689
