Data Science Intern

About The Role

QuantumFinix is a leading fintech company leveraging AI and machine learning to revolutionize financial services. We are looking for a passionate Data Science Intern who is eager to learn and contribute to our data-driven projects. This internship offers hands-on experience with large-scale financial datasets, predictive modeling, and deployment of ML models in production environments. You will work closely with our experienced data science team and gain exposure to cutting-edge technologies in the fintech space.

Responsibilities

• Collect clean and preprocess large financial datasets for analysis and modeling
• Develop and implement machine learning models for financial predictions and risk assessment
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into data solutions
• Create data visualizations and dashboards to communicate insights to stakeholders
• Conduct exploratory data analysis to identify patterns and trends in financial data
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to the team's best practices
• Document data science processes and methodologies for knowledge sharing

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science Data Science Statistics Mathematics or a related field
• Strong understanding of Python and data science libraries such as Pandas NumPy and Scikit-learn
• Basic knowledge of SQL for data extraction and manipulation
• Understanding of fundamental machine learning algorithms and statistical concepts
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking skills
• Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g. Git)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch
• Knowledge of financial markets and financial data analysis
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS GCP or Azure)
• Contributions to open-source projects or personal data science portfolio
• Understanding of time series analysis and forecasting techniques
