About the role

The Shipping Analytics team drives eBay’s most important shipping initiatives through data-driven insights, advanced analytics, AI, and experimentation. This role is an opportunity for a hands-on analytics leader to operate as a strong individual contributor while leading a small team across high-impact initiatives in eBay’s shipping ecosystem.

What You Will Accomplish

• Apply advanced analytics, AI, and experimentation to solve complex business problems and improve eBay’s domestic and cross-border shipping experience.
• Drive the growth and optimization of eBay’s managed shipping and label platform by defining success metrics, measuring impact, and identifying opportunities to scale globally.
• Build predictive models and carrier rate simulations that improve shipping cost, delivery speed, reliability, and sustainability across carrier networks.
• Identify friction across the seller shipping and label purchase journey, uncover customer pain points, and recommend product and business improvements that increase label adoption.
• Design, execute, and evaluate experiments to inform decisions on product features, pricing, and policy, while partnering cross-functionally to turn insights into measurable outcomes.
• Develop scalable data pipelines, dashboards, and AI-powered monitoring solutions that enable faster decisions, improve operational visibility, and detect performance issues in real time.

What You Will Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or another quantitative field; advanced degree or MBA is a plus.
• 8+ years of experience in data science, analytics, or a related quantitative role, with a track record of independently leading high-impact initiatives end to end.
• Strong technical skills in SQL, Excel, and data visualization tools, with working knowledge of Python or R.
• Experience in product analytics, experimentation, A/B testing, and causal inference, with the ability to translate analysis into business action.
• Demonstrated success applying data science, optimization, and AI techniques to drive measurable business impact; familiarity with modern AI tools and LLMs is preferred.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across Product, Engineering, Finance, and business teams in a fast-paced environment; experience in logistics, shipping operations, or carrier performance analytics is a plus.

Additional Details

The base pay range for this position is expected in the range below: $149,200 - $199,200 Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave).
