About the role

The Data Science Analyst will join the Data Analytics and Business Intelligence team at our Waukesha, Wisconsin headquarters.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze structured and unstructured data using statistical analysis, explanatory and predictive modeling, and data mining techniques.
  • Determine best practices and provide actionable insights and recommendations for current operations or issues, collaborating with business functional teams.
  • Work on enterprise data platforms and other analytical projects, assisting in system implementation or development.
  • Assist in capturing operational information through the use of appropriate tools and technologies.
  • Develop and maintain custom data models and pipelines, creating algorithms as needed and producing data insights.
  • Support end-users by gathering, cleaning, and organizing data, and providing documentation and user support.
  • Prepare ongoing reports that highlight the progress and successes of enterprise transformation initiatives and AI use cases.

Requirements

  • Familiarity with manipulating unstructured data in a data analytics environment.
  • Experience with open-source tools, cloud computing, machine learning, and data visualization.
  • Programming language proficiency (e.g., R, Python).
  • Experience with relational databases and SQL.
  • Experience with statistical analysis tools (e.g., MatLab, MiniTab, SPSS, R).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS).
  • Experience with building agents using Microsoft Copilot and other solution paths.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Math, Statistics, or Computer Science.
  • One year of work experience in a related field.
  • Relational database experience and experience querying databases (e.g., SQL, MySql).
  • Experience with statistical analysis tools (e.g., MatLab, MiniTab, SPSS, R).
  • Experience with statistical analysis languages (e.g., R, Python, SQL).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS).
  • Experience with building agents using Microsoft Copilot, and other solution paths.

Skills

  • Ability to write complex SQL queries and perform data visualization.
  • Proficiency in database applications and MS Office, with excellent Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, project management, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to simplify complex findings and develop practical solutions.
  • Knowledge of various data structures and common methods in data transformation.
  • Strong pattern recognition and predictive modeling skills.
  • Understanding of industry, company, and product knowledge to identify assumptions, events, and related risks and opportunities.
  • Self-motivation and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to talk and hear.
  • Use hands to manipulate objects or controls.
  • Stand and walk frequently.
  • Sometimes stoop, bend, or reach above the shoulders.
  • Lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
  • Requires periods of sitting, close vision, and adjusting focus.
  • Occasionally travel.
