Partnering with senior stakeholders across business and control functions, you will drive governance, risk, and compliance outcomes that support strategic decision-making, regulatory excellence, and operational effectiveness. Purpose of the role: To enable effective data governance, risk management, and compliance within the bank, acting as a liaison between business units and the Data & Records Management (DRM) function, translating business needs into actionable strategies and ensuring efficient implementation of DRM.
Responsibilities
- Guide enterprise-wide Data Privacy, Regulatory Compliance, and Data Governance programs within a multi-layered financial services environment, with an understanding of global privacy regulations and their application to business processes and change programs.
- Build trusted partnerships with senior business, Legal, Compliance, Risk, Technology, and Operations stakeholders, influencing strategic decisions and embedding privacy-by-design principles into business strategy, transformation programs, products, and services.
- Drive the implementation and continuous enhancement of privacy governance frameworks, privacy risk assessments, control environments, and regulatory compliance programs to ensure personal data is handled lawfully, transparently, and securely.
- Assess privacy implications of Investment Banking and Markets business activities, including new products, technologies, data uses, and regulatory changes, while balancing commercial targets with effective risk management and customer trust.
- Partner with the local business unit to ensure successful implementation of data & records governance frameworks as appropriate to the needs of the business unit.
- Provide guidance and support on records classification, retention, storage, retrieval, and disposal to business units.
- Monitor local data quality and records metrics and identify areas for improvement.
- Identify opportunities for data improvement and optimization.
- Partner with the relevant business unit to support their data priorities and ensure appropriate decisions related to data & records are embedded in their BAU decision-making and change programs.
- Advise key stakeholders, including functional leadership teams and senior management, on functional and cross-functional areas of impact and alignment.
- Manage and mitigate risks through assessment, in support of the control and governance agenda.
- Demonstrate leadership and accountability for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work your team does.
- Collaborate with other areas of work to keep up to speed with business activity and strategies.
- Create solutions based on sophisticated analytical thought, comparing and selecting complex alternatives.

Requirements
- Experience implementing and embedding Data Privacy governance frameworks, including privacy-by-design, privacy risk assessments, privacy notices, lawful basis assessments, and regulatory compliance requirements across business and technology change programs.
- Understanding of global data protection and privacy regulations, with the ability to interpret regulatory requirements, assess privacy risks, and translate multi-layered obligations into practical business controls and governance outcomes within a financial services environment.

Pay
For New York, NY: Minimum Salary: $160,000, Maximum Salary: $200,000 (base salary only; does not include other types of compensation or benefits).
For Whippany, NJ: Minimum Salary: $160,000, Maximum Salary: $200,000 (base salary only; does not include other types of compensation or benefits).
This position is eligible for an incentive award.
