Responsibilities
- Guide enterprise-wide Data Privacy, Regulatory Compliance, and Data Governance programs within a multi-layered financial services environment, with an understanding of global privacy regulations and their application to business processes and change programs.
- Build trusted partnerships with senior business, Legal, Compliance, Risk, Technology, and Operations stakeholders, influencing strategic decisions and embedding privacy-by-design principles into business strategy, transformation programs, products, and services.
- Drive the implementation and continuous enhancement of privacy governance frameworks, privacy risk assessments, control environments, and regulatory compliance programs to ensure personal data is handled lawfully, transparently, and securely.
- Assess privacy implications of Investment Banking and Markets business activities, including new products, technologies, data uses, and regulatory changes, while balancing commercial targets with effective risk management and customer trust.
- Enable effective data governance, risk management, and compliance within the bank by acting as a liaison between business units and the Data & Records Management (DRM) function, translating business needs into actionable strategies.
- Partner with local business units to ensure successful implementation of data and records governance frameworks tailored to their needs.
- Provide guidance and support on records classification, retention, storage, retrieval, and disposal to business units.
- Monitor local data quality and records metrics, identifying areas for improvement and optimization.
- Support business units in embedding data and records decisions into their BAU decision-making and change programs.
- Advise key stakeholders, including functional leadership teams and senior management, on functional and cross-functional areas of impact and alignment.
- Manage and mitigate risks through assessment, in support of the control and governance agenda.
- Demonstrate leadership and accountability for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to your team’s work.
- Collaborate with other areas of the business to align with business activity and strategies.
- Create solutions based on sophisticated analytical thought, comparing and selecting complex alternatives.
- Build and maintain trusting relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to accomplish key business objectives.
Requirements
- Experience implementing and embedding Data Privacy governance frameworks, including privacy-by-design, privacy risk assessments, privacy notices, lawful basis assessments, and regulatory compliance requirements across business and technology change programs.
- Understanding of global data protection and privacy regulations, with the ability to interpret regulatory requirements, assess privacy risks, and translate multi-layered obligations into practical business controls and governance outcomes within a financial services environment.
- Demonstrated experience in risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, and digital/technology skills.
- Comprehensive understanding of organizational functions to contribute to achieving business goals.

- For individual contributors: serve as a subject matter expert, guide technical direction, lead collaborative multi-year assignments, and train/coach less experienced specialists. Provide insights affecting long-term profits, organizational risks, and strategic decisions.

Pay
For New York, NY and Whippany, NJ:
- Minimum base salary: $160,000
- Maximum base salary: $200,000
This range includes only base salary or base hourly rate. Additional compensation or benefits may be available.
