Data Network Infrastructure Technician (On-site/Field)

Location: Rockland, MA

Compensation: $25.00 - $32.00 / hour

About the Role

This is a full-time position that requires field and on-site work based at BCS365 Headquarters in Rockland, MA. Must be authorized to work in the U.S. and have a reliable mode of transportation with a valid driver's license. The schedule is Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM EST, though start/end times may vary due to client needs.

Responsibilities

• Read customer orders, plans, manuals, blueprints, and technical specifications to install network and communication cables.
• Install and terminate communications cables in accordance with industry standards, including category 5E, 6, 6A, RG6, paging speakers, and fiber.
• Install telecommunications equipment such as switches, wireless access points, and cable trays.
• Certify service by testing circuits and equipment; identify, correct, or escalate problems.
• Document networks by labeling and routing equipment and cables according to industry standards; record configuration diagrams and specifications.
• Maintain networks by troubleshooting and repairing outages; test network backup procedures; update documentation.
• Maintain a safe work environment by following codes, standards, and legal regulations.
• Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical publications.

Requirements

• Fully capable of lifting cable reels, climbing ladders, and operating scissor and boom lifts.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Capable of identifying a full range of colors; no color blindness.
• Punctual and capable of working in a team environment.
• Basic knowledge of telecommunications and data networks.
• A valid electrician’s license preferred, with an “S” designation indicating specialization in certain systems.
