Duties & Responsibilities
- Become a power user of available electronic data collection tools, such as the Research Electronic Data Collection (REDCap) and Veeva Electronic Data Capture systems and build solutions to fit investigator needs.
- Provide data access to authorized data consumers through a blend of established systems and ad hoc reporting.
- Generate queries to locate missing, out of range and incongruent data entries. Communicate issues for follow-up and follow through to ensure resolution of discrepancies.
- Promote high quality and consistent data entry across multiple study sites.
- Facilitate secure file transfers, backups, and data sharing using platforms like FileLocker, Google Drive, OneDrive, etc.
- Proactively document solutions in the preferred format and platform for dissemination within and outside the team.
- Act as a self-starter who is excited by challenges and capable of independently identifying and implementing effective solutions in accordance with organizational policy.
Qualifications
- High level of attention to detail.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to triage complex technical issues.
- Ability to document technical processes and create user-friendly guides.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace suite of tools, particularly spreadsheets.
- Strong verbal and written communications skills, including the ability to detect subtle nuances.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, or the ability to learn quickly, is required.
- Demonstrated ability to manage assignments, prioritize work details, and perform tasks accurately and consistently.
- Demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment of respect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU.
Salary Range
$42,000 - $52,000
