About the role
We are seeking a Data Governance Analyst with strong expertise in data governance, data analysis, data quality, and secure data lifecycle management to support enterprise initiatives focused on data discovery, metadata management, data retention, and secure data deletion. The ideal candidate will partner with business and technical stakeholders to establish and validate data deletion controls, strengthen governance processes, and ensure data is securely and permanently removed in alignment with enterprise standards, policies, and risk requirements.
Responsibilities
- Support the design, implementation, and execution of data deletion controls and governance processes.
- Conduct dataset discovery, data inventory, metadata management, and data classification across enterprise data environments.
- Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and control validation procedures to verify governance controls and identify gaps or risks.
- Coordinate across technical and business teams to translate technical data governance requirements into clear business processes.
- Analyze and mitigate risks related to compliance, data quality, and process improvement.
Requirements
- Strong experience in Data Governance, Data Management, Data Lifecycle Management, or Data Privacy initiatives.
- Hands-on experience with Databricks, Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS), and Delta Lake.
- Strong proficiency in Advanced SQL for data analysis, validation, reconciliation, and data discovery.
- Experience with Python and PySpark for data analysis, transformation, validation, and automation.
- Experience working with Azure Data Factory (ADF) and data integration workflows.
- Project management and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on risk mitigation and compliance.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Management, Business, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
