About the Role

We are seeking a meticulous and collaborative Data Entry Operator to join our team remotely at the Wisconsin Reading Center. The primary responsibility of this role is to prepare digital ocular scans for ophthalmology reading by converting image formats, running segmentation software algorithms, and manually correcting segmentation lines to ensure accuracy. This position plays a vital role in supporting research and clinical trials by ensuring the integrity and quality of retinal images used for diagnosis and analysis. The role does not involve coding or programming but requires proficiency in software operations and attention to detail. The position offers the possibility of extension or conversion to an ongoing appointment based on organizational needs and funding. The work is predominantly remote, with quarterly onsite meetings in Madison, WI, to facilitate collaboration and team engagement. Flexible scheduling allows the incumbent to manage work hours effectively while maintaining high-quality output essential for advancing ophthalmic research.

Responsibilities

  • Enter patient and research data accurately into systems and databases
  • Prepare, sort, and review documents and images for data entry and analysis
  • Examine segmentation lines on digital ocular images for accuracy and completeness
  • Manually correct segmentation lines to ensure precise delineation of retinal structures
  • Optimize images for analysis by using proprietary software to view metadata, images, and documentation
  • Maintain awareness and adherence to university and institutional standards regarding patient privacy and data security
  • Collaborate with team members during quarterly onsite meetings in Madison, WI
  • Support quality assurance processes by reviewing images and data for consistency and accuracy
  • Assist in maintaining organized records of all data and images processed

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred)
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Excellent problem-solving, interpersonal, and written communication skills
  • Experience working in research settings or healthcare environments
  • Experience in ophthalmology or optometry settings (preferred)
  • Experience with clinical trials (preferred)
  • Proficiency in software operations related to image processing and data management
  • Ability to work independently and remotely with minimal supervision
