Data Engineering & Operations Manager

About the Role

We are looking for a Big Data Manager with experience in people management, technical and user support, as well as data engineering operations. This role is responsible for managing a team of systems engineers, devops engineers, operations analysts, systems architects, and application administrators supporting our data & analytics platforms, applications, and production pipelines. You will manage change both internally within your teams and externally with the business units you serve. The successful candidate will guide the improvement of processes and procedures on a continuous basis and manage team and staff performance.

Responsibilities

• Play a key role in the development and implementation of department vision and strategies regarding Process, Tools, Technologies, and Platforms.
• Champion engagement activities.
• Ensure all operational KPIs and metrics are being defined, measured, and met.
• Inspire and guide improvement in process, technology innovation, and automation for the organization.
• Manage staff, including career planning, goal development, performance management, performance evaluations, growth & development, and knowledge retention.
• Present to your teams, business units, and upper management to demonstrate the value your team adds to the organization.

Requirements

• Excellent communication skills.
• Thorough understanding of modern data & analytics platforms, data engineering practices, people management, project management, and quality assurance.
• Tenacity to identify opportunities, root causes of problems, and devise creative solutions while convincing people that change is necessary.
• Drive to innovate processes and resilience to work through resistance to needed change.
• Proven leadership skills and experience guiding a team to execute results, both on budget and on time.

Pay

The starting pay range for this position is $194,300.00 - $259,100.00. Additionally, for full-time positions, you will be eligible to participate in our incentive program based on the achievement of organization, team, and personal performance.
