About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Reporting & Analytics Specialist with strong expertise in SSRS, Power BI, and ETL knowledge to support our enterprise reporting needs within a complex healthcare environment. This role requires close collaboration with offshore development teams, business stakeholders, and subject matter experts to gather, validate, and clarify reporting requirements.
Responsibilities
- Reporting & Dashboard Development
- Design, develop, and maintain SSRS reports and Power BI dashboards to support operational, clinical, and financial reporting needs.
- Perform data modeling, DAX calculations, and visualization optimization in Power BI.
- Ensure reports meet accuracy, performance, security, and usability standards.
- ETL & Data Management
- Support ETL processes, including requirements gathering, data mapping, data validation, and quality reviews.
- Collaborate with data engineering teams to ensure data pipelines are aligned with reporting needs.
- Validate data integrity across various source systems (EMR, billing, claims, CRM, etc.).
- Requirements Gathering & Stakeholder Engagement
- Work directly with business units (clinical, operations, compliance, finance) to collect and document detailed reporting requirements.
- Provide requirement clarification to offshore teams and ensure timely delivery of reporting solutions.
- Convert ambiguous business requirements into clear technical specifications.
- Coordination with Offshore Team
- Serve as the primary liaison with the offshore development group.
- Review work delivered by offshore teams for accuracy, alignment with requirements, and compliance with healthcare reporting standards.
- Facilitate knowledge transfer, manage task prioritization, and ensure timely issue resolution.
- Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Conduct thorough testing and validation of reports, dashboards, and ETL outputs.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulatory requirements (HIPAA, PHI handling, data governance).
- Maintain documentation for reporting processes, data definitions, and business logic.
Requirements
- Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
- 3–7 years of experience in reporting and analytics roles.
- Technical Skills
- Hands-on experience with SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services).
- Power BI (data modeling, DAX, report development).
- SQL scripting and database querying.
- ETL processes (SSIS or equivalent tools).
- Strong understanding of relational databases and data warehouse concepts.
- Experience collaborating with offshore technical teams.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Preferred Experience
- Experience in a medical or healthcare organization (clinical workflows, claims, EMR systems, healthcare KPIs).
- Knowledge of HIPAA, PHI security, and data governance best practices.
- Familiarity with cloud environments (Azure preferred).
- Soft Skills
- Translator Skills: The ability to take a vague request from a physician or executive and turn it into a concrete technical requirement.
- Detail Oriented: In healthcare, a decimal point in the wrong place matters. You have a "measure twice, cut once" mentality.
Pay
$120k+
