Data Engineer (Knowledge Graph Specialist)
Location: Bethesda, MD – onsite in a SCIF 3–5 days per week. Active TS/SCI clearance and willingness to obtain a CI Poly are required; US citizenship is mandatory.

About the role
We are hiring a Data Engineer (Knowledge Graph Specialist) to help intelligence analysts represent the next generation of object-based intelligence globally. The ideal candidate has a background in defense intelligence, operational readiness, and the ability to communicate technical concepts to analysts, senior stakeholders, and other parties. You will collaborate with technical teams to build and refine systems, contribute to training materials, and shape the tools available to analysts worldwide.
Responsibilities
- Model complex, multi-dimensional relationships using graph theory and data modeling techniques.
- Design, implement, and optimize graph database solutions (e.g., Anzograph, Neo4j, Amazon Neptune).
- Write and maintain queries in Cypher, SQL, and SPARQL.
- Develop scripts in Python and shell for data processing and automation.
- Work within classified government environments and adhere to security protocols.
- Collaborate with software development teams across MacOS, Windows, and Linux platforms.
- Communicate system capabilities and use cases to analysts and senior stakeholders.
- Assist in creating training materials for end users.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and 1.5+ years of professional experience.
- Strong grasp of graph theory and data modeling.
- Expertise with graph database solutions (Anzograph, Neo4j, Amazon Neptune).
- Familiarity with Cypher, SQL, and SPARQL query languages.
- Experience with Python and shell scripting.
- Familiarity with Linux systems, particularly RedHat-based distributions.
- Experience working with software development teams.
- Active TS/SCI clearance and willingness to obtain a CI Poly; US citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with AWS Console, including EC2 instance management.
- Background in Object-Based Intelligence.
- Experience communicating with senior stakeholders in classified environments.
- CompTIA Security+ certification.
