About the role

We are seeking a motivated Data Engineer II to join our Data Platform Engineering Organization. This remote role is pivotal in building scalable, cloud-based data solutions that empower analytics and data-driven decision-making across the organization. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with modern data engineering practices, cloud platforms, and data warehousing technologies. You will collaborate with a talented team of engineers, product partners, and business stakeholders to modernize our enterprise data platforms and deliver innovative cloud-based data solutions that support critical business initiatives. This position offers a unique opportunity to work with advanced technologies, address complex data challenges, and contribute significantly to the bank’s data and AI transformation journey.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field with at least 2 years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Warehousing, or Cloud Data Platforms.
  • Or High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in Data Engineering or related disciplines.
  • Experience working with cloud-based data platforms such as AWS, Snowflake, or similar solutions.
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL for developing ETL/ELT processes, data pipelines, and integrations.
  • Hands-on experience with modern data engineering tools like dbt, Apache Airflow, or equivalent frameworks.
  • Proven ability to deliver and support scalable, reliable data solutions in enterprise environments.
  • Strong collaboration skills with business and technology stakeholders to develop data-driven solutions.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Preferred certifications include AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, AWS Certified Developer - Associate, AWS Certified Data Engineer - Associate, SnowPro Core Certification, or similar.
  • Additional experience with enterprise ETL/ELT tools, data governance, security, and compliance practices is advantageous.
  • Experience within Financial Services or highly regulated industries is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and cloud-based data solutions utilizing AWS Services, Snowflake, dbt, Python, SQL, and related technologies.
  • Implement data warehouse architectures, dimensional data models, and ETL/ELT processes to support reporting, analytics, and business intelligence initiatives.
  • Develop and execute data quality validations, test cases, and controls to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability.
  • Create and maintain data tests, including dbt tests, to support data integrity and quality standards.
  • Support workflow orchestration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and log analysis using tools like Airflow and cloud-native solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with business users, product teams, analysts, and technology partners to deliver effective data solutions aligned with organizational goals.
  • Follow established engineering standards, documentation protocols, and testing procedures to ensure high-quality solution deployment.
  • Participate in pipeline deployment, environment promotion, operational support, and performance tuning activities utilizing CI/CD practices.
  • Leverage AI-powered tools and automation to improve development efficiency, code quality, and project delivery outcomes.
