Data Engineer

Job Summary

Ampcus Inc. is seeking a highly motivated Data Engineer to join their talented team in McLean, VA. The ideal candidate will have robust data engineering expertise, including experience with Python and PySpark, and a strong background in designing, developing, and optimizing applications.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and fine-tune applications within an agile environment following Program Increment (PI) planning every six weeks.
• Exposure to various design patterns within the data engineering paradigm.
• Extensive experience in designing, developing, troubleshooting, and debugging PySpark applications.
• Prioritize and execute tasks based on PI planning cycles.
• Proven track record in processing and handling large datasets.
• Hands-on experience in performance tuning Spark applications for scalability, performance, and maintainability.
• Strong proficiency in using GitHub for efficient code management and sharing.

Requirements

• Experience with data engineering and Python programming.
• Expertise in PySpark application development.
• Performance tuning skills for Spark applications.
• Proficiency in GitHub for code management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in data engineering and Python application development.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and Program Increment (PI) planning.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
