Data Engineer / Analytics Migration / BigQuery

About the role

A remote marketing and data analytics firm is hiring an Analytics Migration Engineer to support a large-scale cloud transformation initiative on a contract-to-hire basis. This role focuses on migrating legacy analytical environments into GCP, with a strong emphasis on BigQuery, data validation, and modern analytics tooling. The position blends hands-on engineering with analytics quality assurance in a highly collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• 40% Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery, Composer, Vertex AI)
• 30% SAS / SQL /Python
• 20% Data validation, QA and testing
• 10% Excel automation and reporting
• 70% Hands On
• 30% Team Collaboration

Requirements

• BS or MS in Engineering or Analytics field
• Hands-on GCP experience
• Strong experience with BigQuery
• Experience with SAS, SQL and Python in analytics environments
• Strong collaboration skills across technical and business teams
• Experience migrating SAS and Excel environments to cloud platforms
• Exposure to Vertex AI or other ML deployment tools
• Familiarity with Airflow or Cloud Composer
• Experience with automated testing frameworks for analytics
• Background optimizing queries and workflows for performance at scale
