Data Engineer, Accounting

About the role

MONTICELLOAM, LLC and its affiliates (“Monticello”) is a real‑estate and asset‑based lender providing asset management and comprehensive capital solutions for healthcare, multifamily, and commercial real‑estate assets throughout the US. MonticelloAM is seeking a Financial Accounting Operations Data Engineer to build and maintain the data and reporting platform behind our accounting and treasury operations—from system integrations and ingestion pipelines to warehouse modeling, financial reporting, and internal tooling that streamlines workflows. This role is fully in‑person; candidates must be able to work onsite at our office location.

Tech stack

• Application Development: Kyriba and NetSuite (core treasury and accounting systems), Ramp (AP system)
• Programming: Python for backend services, APIs, automation, and data engineering
• APIs: REST APIs delivering data and tooling to business users
• Data platform: Snowflake (cloud data warehouse), dbt (modular, version‑controlled transformations), Airflow (orchestration and workflow automation), SQL (data modeling and analysis)
• Infrastructure & delivery: AWS (cloud services), Docker and CI/CD pipelines, Git (version control)

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary engineering resource for Kyriba and NetSuite enhancements, integrations, and day‑to‑day support, helping accounting and treasury teams improve workflows and reduce manual work.
• Design and build data pipelines that consolidate data from all systems into a single, reliable source of truth (Snowflake, Airflow, dbt).
• Maintain data pipelines and processes supporting accounting and treasury operations, including GL coding, bank account reconciliation, and financial‑statement reporting.
• Translate feedback from accounting, treasury, and FP&A teams into SQL‑based data‑quality rules.
• Develop React‑based dashboards that support day‑to‑day accounting and portfolio decisions.
• Evolve data models and warehouse architecture.
• Implement data‑quality frameworks and automated QC processes.
• Handle deployment, CI/CD, and monitoring to keep systems running reliably.

Qualifications

• Deep familiarity with NetSuite and Kyriba, and experience building integrations that connect them.
• Understanding of accounting and/or treasury concepts.
• Experience building and deploying software end‑to‑end, from concept through production.
• Strong Python skills across data engineering, backend services, and APIs.
• Hands‑on experience building data pipelines and transformations (Airflow, dbt, or similar).
• Experience with cloud data warehouses (Snowflake preferred) and strong SQL.
• Experience pulling and wrangling data from REST APIs and third‑party systems.
• Valuable: DevOps experience – Docker, CI/CD, infrastructure‑as‑code, and AWS.
• Valuable: Experience working directly with non‑technical stakeholders.
• Valuable: Experience building deeply interactive dashboards in React.

Pay

Monticello offers a competitive base salary range of $100,000‑$140,000 per year, plus a discretionary bonus based on employee performance reviewed during the annual review process.
