Job Duties
- Designs, builds, and maintains scalable data pipelines and ETL processes to support financial reporting, operational analysis, and business intelligence needs.
- Designs and manages data security frameworks, including role-level security (RLS) and permissions across Finance’s Power BI workspaces, ensuring appropriate access controls aligned with Finance data governance requirements.
- Develops, and implements semantic layers for consumption in PowerBI dashboards and visualizations.
- Maintains data models optimized for finance use cases.
- Develops processes to monitor data integrity including reconciliation, and exception reporting.
- Collaborate with software developers and data scientists to support advanced analytics and AI initiatives.
- Serves as a bridge between Finance and Technology, ensuring financial data is accurate, accessible, and trusted across the organization.
- Collaborates with stakeholders in finance, accounting, and other departments to align team objectives with business goals.
- Utilizes visualization techniques and BI Tools (Power BI & Qlik) to present findings in a clear, actionable format.
- Defines project scope, deliverables, and timelines, ensuring on-time, high quality products.
- Continuously monitors emerging technologies and industry trends, ensuring the preservation of a competitive advantage while promoting the enhancement of organizational capabilities.
Requirements
- Requires a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, Finance, Accounting or related field.
- At least five (5) years of experience in data engineering or related technical roles.
Education & Experience
- Strong SQL development and database design experience.
- Experience building ETL pipelines using modern data integration tools.
- Proficiency in Python, PySpark, Databricks or similar data engineering technologies.
- Experience with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
- Strong knowledge of data engineering principles, including experience with data warehousing, and big data technologies.
- Experience working with ERP and financial systems such as SAP, Oracle, Workday, or similar platforms.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to diverse audiences.
- Proven track record of successful project management, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and ensure the delivery of high-quality solutions.
- Industry-specific domain knowledge in Finance or Accounting, with an understanding of related processes and terminology is preferred.
- Experience with data visualization tools (Qlik, PowerBI, etc.) preferred.
