Responsibilities

  • Possess strong knowledge and experience of legacy systems, flat files, mainframe-extracted data, and structured or unstructured datasets.
  • Support data mapping and crosswalk analysis across organizations and vendors, interpret legacy formats and data dictionaries.
  • Understand key data conversion requirements such as retention needs, cutover sequencing, and identifying required data elements.
  • Familiarity with ETL processes, reconciliation, encrypted file validation, SFTP structures, and source-to-target relationships.
  • Document extraction logic and validation rules, effectively coordinate across organizations, and resolve data inconsistencies and quality issues.
  • Knowledge of government data retention and compliance standards.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience supporting field mapping, crosswalk analysis, and data validation during conversion efforts, including troubleshooting data quality issues such as blob-size anomalies and variable-length errors.
  • 3 years of experience participating in organization coordination activities, including file reviews and data dictionary prioritization, and working with encrypted test files and regulated data.
  • 3 years of experience working with legacy and relational data technologies such as mainframe environments, DB2, FOCUS, Oracle, and Microsoft SQL Server.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, data science, engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
