About the role
Yale Cancer Center is Connecticut's only NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, offering the highest quality patient-centered care, breakthrough discoveries, and training for future leaders in cancer science and medicine. Over 300 open and enrolling trials and 600 open trials are available, covering various diseases and treatment options.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct clinical and data management support for clinical trials.
- Extract, record, and disseminate treatment-related information for regular reporting and monitoring.
- Interpret, synthesize, and analyze data using scientific or statistical techniques.
- Write and edit material for publication and presentation.
- Oversee and instruct research and support staff on technical procedures, equipment operation, and laboratory maintenance.
- Schedule and coordinate research activities, recruit study participants, order and maintain inventory of supplies.
- May assist in preparing financial information and monitoring budgets.
- Perform additional functions incidental to research activities.
Requirements
- Intermediate to advanced computer proficiency with Excel, Word, and ability to utilize electronic medical databases.
- Ability to coordinate patient/study participant care from recruitment through follow-up.
- Independent and accurate abstraction, creation, and maintenance of study participant’s research record.
- Impeccable interpersonal skills and ability to work as a team as well as independently.
- Professional appearance and manner, excellent attendance record.
- Experience working with study sponsor personnel.
- Proven ability to multitask, maintain confidentiality, and manage a broad variety of duties and shifting priorities.
- Experience working in a Clinical Trials setting preferred.
- Oncology experience.
- Completion of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) training.
Preferred Education, Experience & Skills
- Two years of related work experience in the same job family and a Bachelor's degree in a related field; or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
- Experience coordinating, planning or working in a high-volume multi-task setting.
- Knowledge of Oracle software, Medidata Rave, EPIC and ONCORE.
- Knowledge of federal regulations for HIPAA and IRB.
