Data Collector IV, Testing and Data Collection

About the role

The Data Collector IV supports a large-scale Army test and evaluation program, providing data collection, technical writing, computer operations, range scheduling, and administrative support services. This includes testing of automotive, combat, electronic, general equipment, and ordnance materiel, with services such as data collection coordination, compilation and processing, form development and management, test monitoring, technical writing, reporting, data and software administration, and range scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Develop a structured data collection curriculum to train new data collection personnel.
• Provide training to employees and other personnel on data collection procedures and policies for work performed in Aberdeen and at other test locations.
• Maintain knowledge of applicable hardware and software, including ODIN and Microsoft Office, to assist junior employees with technical problems.
• Perform Data Collector I, II, and III functions as required to support urgent personnel shortfalls.
• Perform job functions at sites other than Aberdeen as required.
• Work primarily onsite in Aberdeen, Maryland, with travel to other locations within the Continental United States (CONUS) and Outside the Continental United States (OCONUS) as required by mission needs.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in a technical area and two (2) years of experience performing data collection involving military or nonmilitary equipment and associated maintenance concepts; OR four (4) years of experience performing data collection involving military or nonmilitary equipment and associated maintenance concepts.
• GPA of 2.5 or higher in each individual discipline of math and science and a GPA of 3.0 or higher in high school English or a GPA of 2.5 or higher in college English from an accredited high school or university.
• High school diploma.
• Proficiency in speaking, reading, writing, and understanding English.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
• Proficiency in the use of computers and Microsoft Office software.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
• Ability to meet physical requirements, including working in extreme heat or cold, high humidity, blowing sand and dust, confined spaces, at heights, and walking distances over unimproved terrain while wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Availability to support work outside normal duty hours when required by mission needs.
• Willingness and ability to travel within CONUS and OCONUS as required.
