Data Center Technician III
About the role
AWS is seeking Data Center Technicians to support our customers in multiple locations. This position requires the successful candidate to report to a site location. The role involves ensuring overall availability and reliability of data center operations, including responding to operational incidents and participating in a primary responder rotation.
Responsibilities
- Perform server rack installations, hardware break-fix on various components, troubleshoot network issues, and respond to operational incidents that impact service availability, escalating to senior technicians and management as needed/required.
- Serve as a primary contact point for both internal and external stakeholders, including engineers, software developers, vendors, and contractors.
- Contribute to documentation and process improvement initiatives based on your analysis of operational issues.
- Help to train and onboard new team members.
Requirements
- High school or equivalent diploma
- 1+ years of relevant experience in data center operations, IT support, or a similar technical field
Qualifications
- Associate's degree or above, or Network or Security certification
- Experience working in a Data Center environment
- Understanding of network design, protocols, and troubleshooting
- Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system
- Understanding of in-depth hardware knowledge (e.g., PCIe)
