Data Center Technician III

About the role

AWS Infrastructure Services supports all AWS data centers and ensures customers have continuous access to the cloud. This role involves hardware and network repair, installation, documentation, and problem-solving within a 24/7 environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform server rack installations, hardware break-fix, troubleshoot network issues, and respond to operational incidents
• Serve as a primary contact point for internal and external stakeholders
• Contribute to documentation and process improvement initiatives
• Help train and onboard new team members

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1+ years of relevant experience in data center operations, IT support, or a similar technical field
• Ability to work in a 24/7 environment with an ability to participate in primary responder rotation and provide after-hours support
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds; and participate in group lifts for 41+ pounds
• Working in cramped and/or elevated and/or noisy environments
• Bending, lifting, stretching, reaching, standing and walking for up to 8+ hours a day
• Ascending and descending ladders, stairs, and gangways safely and without limitation

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or above, or Network or Security certification
• Experience working in a Data Center environment
• Understanding of network design, protocols and troubleshooting
• Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system
• Understanding of in-depth hardware knowledge (e.g., PCIe)

Pay

The starting pay for this role is $30.77/hour. Final starting pay will be based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.

Schedule

This position requires shift work that includes days/nights/weekends/holidays. Traveling within and outside of the regional work area is required.
