Data Center Technician

About the role

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Data Center Operations Technician to support a company focused on delivering end-to-end enterprise IT infrastructure services in a secure government environment. This position is on-site at Ft.Belvoir. The Data Center Operations Technician will support critical data center operations through hardware installations, cabling, troubleshooting, and infrastructure maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Rack, stack, cable, and decommission servers, storage devices, and network hardware within a secure data center environment.
• Perform hardware troubleshooting, connectivity checks, and basic incident response while escalating complex issues to senior technicians.
• Assist with equipment refreshes, upgrades, inventory management, and asset tracking efforts.
• Label, organize, and manage cabling in accordance with data center standards and best practices.
• Maintain accurate documentation, follow SOPs and change management processes, and support day-to-day data center operations.

Requirements

• 1-2+ years of experience in IT support, hardware support, desktop support, data center operations, or a related technical environment.
• Hands-on experience installing hardware, replacing components, performing cabling and recabling, and supporting basic networking functions.
• Strong attention to detail, documentation skills, troubleshooting abilities, and clear written and verbal communication.
• High School Diploma required.
• Active TS/SCI Clearance required.
• CompTIA Security+ certification required.

Pay

Salary Range: $60,000 - $90,000 depending on experience
