About the role
This is a 24/7/365 on-site position that includes day/night shifts, weekend and holiday work, and occasional travel based on business requirements. The role requires consent to the processing of biometric data for identity verification and access control.
Responsibilities
- Identify opportunities for team members to replace or upgrade server components and maintain hardware for its entire lifecycle.
- Guide and mentor less experienced technicians on best practices for power distribution units, hardware replacement, and troubleshooting without disturbing critical infrastructure.
- Validate cabling, network environment builds, and connectivity to ensure devices are connected and error-free.
- Monitor and assign work in a ticketing environment, mentoring technicians or implementing technical solutions to meet Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Escalate trends or repeating problems and document resolutions for maintaining environments.
- Oversee adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Maintenance Operation Protocols (MOPs) during tasks, ensuring compliance with site rules and vendor regulations.
- Uphold security procedures and conduct functional testing of security systems in compliance with local regulations.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety guidelines, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Train advanced fix and repair techniques aligned with corporate objectives and Data Center Change Control processes.
- Act as a technical liaison for technical and non-technical teams to resolve resiliency, reliability, and availability risks.
- Collaborate with project teams and colocation partners to test and validate electrical/mechanical systems and coordinate site utility requirements.
- Ensure contractors and vendors deliver quality services and meet SLAs.
- Complete complex tasks with limited instructions and provide guidance to team members on shifting priorities.
- Develop and share procedures to identify and resolve routine or non-routine issues, serving as an escalation point for the team.
- Collect and review data to troubleshoot complex errors.
- Recommend and implement improvements to enhance the efficiency of processes, protocols, and workflows.
Requirements
- Knowledge of server, storage, and network hardware systems and components.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills; detail-oriented.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong interest in learning new data center concepts and technologies.
- Dependable, trustworthy, and able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Able to climb a 9 ft ladder and stand/walk for extended periods.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Rotating shift schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- IT Hardware Concepts knowledge (RAID, Linux/Unix, CLI, etc.).
- Good computer skills.
- Ability to work 10-12 hour shifts.
- Experience with mainstream ticketing systems is a plus.
- Willingness to travel as required.
- Client experience is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2-year or 4-year degree or relevant work experience.
- 2 years of data center experience; 1 year of development experience.
- Linux administration knowledge and ability to run Linux commands.
- Data center networking knowledge.
- Experience in data center infrastructure projects.
- 1+ year of experience in structured cabling (copper/fiber) and cable testing.
- 1+ year of experience with cooling and electrical systems concepts inside the data center.
- Experience repairing and working on Oracle servers is a plus.

Pay
Hiring range in USD from $27.64 - $56.83 per hour; from $57,500 - $118,200 per year. Oracle maintains broad salary ranges to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations.
