Data Center Technician
About the role
This is a 24/7/365 position on-site and includes day/night shift, weekend and holiday work with occasional travel based on business requirements. The role will require consent to the processing of biometric data for identity verification and access control.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include Datacenter Services Operations, Technical Support and Trouble Shooting, Safety and Compliance, Continuous Improvement, Collaboration, Vendor Relations, and Leadership. Specific duties include:
- Identifying opportunities for other team members to work with servers and server components to ensure efficient performance for its entire lifecycle.
- Guiding and coaching less experienced technicians on best practices for power distribution units and replacement hardware.
- Validating cabling, checking network environment build and connectivity, and verifying that devices are connected and error-free.
- Mentoring less experienced technicians or implementing technical solutions to enhance and/or troubleshoot the system within Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Overseeing adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Maintenance Operation Protocols (MOPs) when performing tasks.
- Upholding and ensuring established security procedures, considering applicable local regulations, and conducting functional testing of security.
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety guidelines during on-site work at customer locations and at the office.
- Training advance fix and repair techniques that align with corporate objectives and adhering to SOPs and MOPs for operational Data Center Change Control processes.
- Collaborating with project teams and colocation partners to properly test and validate the installation, operation, and performance of electrical/mechanical systems.
- Acting as a technical liaison for technical and non-technical teams, providing subject matter expertise to identify and resolve resiliency, reliability, and availability risks.
Requirements

- IT Hardware Concepts knowledge (RAID, Linux/Unix, CLI, etc.).
- Good computer skills.
- Able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Preferred qualifications include:
- 2-year or 4-year degree or relevant work experience.
- 2 years of Data Center Experience and 1 year of development experience.
- Linux administration knowledge and ability to run Linux commands.
- Data center networking knowledge.
- Experience in Data Center Infrastructure projects.
- 1 year+ experience in Structured Cabling Copper/Fiber and testing of cables.
- 1 year+ experience in Cooling and Electrical systems concepts inside the data center.
- Experience in repairing and working on Oracle servers is a plus.

Pay
The hiring range for this role is from $27.64 - $56.83 per hour, or from $57,500 - $118,200 per year.
Schedule
The role requires a shift schedule that rotates, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
