About the role
Install and decommission network and cabling infrastructure in a large-scale data center environment. Ensure all work meets quality, safety, and industry standards, with a continual focus on process improvement. Provide structured feedback on project progress and collaborate with stakeholders to overcome project obstacles.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and update documentation, including blueprints, floor plans, and service paperwork
- Pull, terminate, label, and test all types of low voltage cable (copper and fiber), including field terminations and cable dressing
- Install and maintain ladder racks, seismic bracing, MDF/IDF closets, and other infrastructure components above and below raised floors
- Perform copper and fiber cable testing, troubleshooting, and fusion splicing (Ribbon/Single OSP/ISP)
- Operate testing equipment (DSX 5000, OTDR), program testers, download test results, and submit documentation to clients
- Conduct service swaps for live networking devices and differentiate between live and decommissioned cables
- Use and update FIM database, scanners, and create mass labels as per port maps
- Follow all production, safety, and quality standards; maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the data center workspace
- Communicate effectively with team members and work under the direction of the Operations Manager and senior technicians
Requirements
- Demonstrate proficiency in customer service and job safety requirements
- Utilize basic telecom hand tools
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds, pulling cables, climbing ladders, and standing/walking for extended periods
Schedule
Full-time contract role (6 months), Monday–Friday, 40–45 hours per week with paid overtime.
