Data Center Technician

About the role

We are seeking experienced Data Center Technicians to support a large-scale data center construction project in Red Oak, TX. This is a Contract position expected to last approximately 3-4 months, with potential for extension and possible long-term opportunities based on business needs and performance; significant overtime may be available. Technicians will support the installation and deployment of fiber optic and copper cabling infrastructure within a fast-paced data center environment.

Schedule

Night shift; start time: 7:00 PM (subject to project requirements).

Responsibilities

• Pull, route, and install fiber optic and copper cabling
• Install backbone fiber, including high-count fiber cabling
• Install and connect pre-terminated fiber into cassettes and related equipment
• Perform cable dressing, labeling, and cable management
• Complete fiber and copper terminations
• Assist with rack and stack activities
• Support fiber testing and troubleshooting activities
• Utilize testing equipment such as Fluke testers and OTDR equipment when required
• Maintain compliance with site safety standards and established installation procedures
• Collaborate with project teams to ensure quality installations and timely project completion

Required Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in data center cabling installation
• Experience pulling, routing, dressing, labeling, and terminating fiber optic and copper cabling
• Familiarity with rack and stack activities within a data center environment
• Ability to work in a fast-paced construction or data center setting

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience testing and troubleshooting fiber or copper cabling using Fluke or OTDR equipment
• Previous experience supporting large-scale data center deployments
