About the role
We are seeking experienced Data Center Cabling Technicians to support a critical infrastructure modernization project. This role involves fiber and network cabling upgrades, switch installation, and data center migration support. Professionals with experience in enterprise network environments, structured cabling, and switch infrastructure deployments are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Install, terminate, label, and test fiber optic and copper cabling.
- Perform structured cabling cleanup and remediation activities.
- Install and replace SFP modules and associated optics.
- Rack, stack, and cable network switches and related infrastructure.
- Support network migration and cutover activities.
- Document cable mappings and connectivity changes.
- Follow data center standards, change control processes, and safety procedures.
- Work collaboratively with network engineers, infrastructure teams, and project leadership.
Requirements
- Tier 1:
- 1+ years of cabling or data center experience.
- Understanding of structured cabling best practices.
- Experience working with fiber and copper cabling.
- Tier 2:
- 3+ years of cabling and infrastructure experience.
- Experience installing enterprise network equipment.
- Familiarity with fiber testing and troubleshooting.
- Tier 3:
- 5+ years of data center deployment experience.
- Strong knowledge of switch installations and migration projects.
- Experience supporting production environments and cutovers.
- Tier 4:
- Senior-level technician with extensive data center migration experience.
- Capable of leading onsite activities and mentoring junior technicians.
- Expert knowledge of fiber infrastructure, switch deployments, and large-scale network migrations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Single Mode Fiber deployments.
- Data center cabling certifications (BICSI, Fiber Optic Technician, etc.).
- Experience working around Cisco, Arista, Juniper, or equivalent networking hardware.
- Familiarity with rack elevations, patch panels, and cable management standards.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a data center environment.
