About the role

This position involves replacing and upgrading server components, validating cabling, and ensuring network environment build and connectivity with limited supervision. You will monitor and respond in a ticketing environment, guide less experienced technicians, and implement technical solutions. Additionally, you will help facilitate training aligned with corporate objectives and adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and method of procedures (MOPs) for operational Data Center Change Control processes.

Responsibilities

  • Datacenter Services Operations - Break/Fix and Hardware Maintenance:
    • Replace server components, upgrade servers, and proactively maintain hardware to ensure efficient performance throughout its lifecycle using established protocols.
    • Install power distribution units and/or replacement hardware, removing and troubleshooting hardware without disturbing critical infrastructure as needed.
  • Datacenter Services Operations - Network Configuration, Installation, and Augmentation:
    • Implement designed and defined network communications and solutions, including cabling and networking equipment environments.
    • Validate cabling, check network environment build and connectivity, and verify devices are connected and error-free with limited supervision.
  • Technical Support and Troubleshooting:
    • Monitor and respond in a ticketing environment, guiding less experienced technicians or implementing technical solutions to enhance or troubleshoot systems within Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
    • Document steps or resolutions involved in maintaining environments.
  • Safety and Compliance:
    • Adhere to all established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Maintenance Operation Protocols (MOPs) when performing tasks, ensuring compliance with site rules, colocation vendor rules, and customer site environments.
    • Uphold required security procedures, considering applicable local regulations.
    • Ensure compliance with health and safety guidelines, including personal protective equipment, site access, or specific data site compliance during on-site work.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Help facilitate training aligned with corporate objectives and adhere to SOPs and MOPs for operational Data Center Change Control processes.
    • Identify repeating problems or trends, escalate issues to senior peers and the operations team, and engage the global team about local issues.
    • Analyze issues for repeating problems or trends, escalating identified issues to external experts and the operations team.
  • Collaboration, Vendor Relations, and Leadership:
    • Work with project teams and colocation partners to test and validate the installation, operation, and performance of electrical/mechanical systems and coordinate site utility requirements.
    • Act as a technical liaison for technical teams and provide subject matter expertise to identify and resolve resiliency, reliability, and availability risks.
    • Ensure contractors and vendors deliver quality services and meet all SLAs.
    • Contribute to quality assurance through process creation and assist in training less experienced peers.
  • Planning & Execution:
    • Complete moderately complex and/or ambiguous assigned tasks in accordance with project requirements, shifting priorities and resources according to team needs with some direction.
  • Collaboration & Partnership:
    • Collaborate with the team to deliver impactful work and support team objectives.
    • Leverage understanding of business, stakeholder, and/or customer needs to build partnerships within immediate and related teams.
  • Problem Solving:
    • Follow procedures to identify and resolve moderately complex or non-routine issues, escalating as needed.
    • Collect and review data and/or information to troubleshoot errors, and help the team address routine issues.
  • Continuous Learning:
    • Actively seek to build new knowledge and learn new skills and/or tools in your area of specialization and relevant domains.
    • Listen to, address, and seek feedback, and proactively pursue training to improve performance.

  • Experience with replacing and upgrading server components, validating cabling, and ensuring network connectivity.
  • Compliance with health and safety guidelines, including the use of personal protective equipment.
  • Collaboration with project teams, colocation partners, and vendors to ensure quality service delivery and SLA compliance.

Pay

Hiring range in the U.S. from $23.08 - $45.05 per hour; from $48,000 - $93,700 per year. Oracle maintains broad salary ranges to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations.
