Overview
The Data Center Superintendent is responsible for providing leadership and direction for day-to-day field operations of the assigned projects, ensuring the maximization of overall business objectives and maximum profitability.
Responsibilities
- Maintains a safe and secure work environment through maintaining safety meetings, incident investigations, and employee involvement.
- Provides key leadership direction for field operations on a project to ensure a cohesive team in conjunction with project management.
- Covers coordination and supervision of all construction activities for assigned areas.
- Manages field personnel priorities relating to technical ability and staffing levels to gain greater efficiencies to improve customer satisfaction and reduce cost.
- Coordinates and supervises all site construction activities and supervises all field personnel as required to successfully complete the project on schedule and within budget.
- This includes maintaining the highest quality, supervising all trade and field personnel, while administering good construction safety practices with all on-site activities.
- Performs material take-offs, orders tools, materials, and equipment.
- Coordinates installation between trades and coordinates subcontractor progress.
- Ensures all on-site employees comply with OSHA standards and company work rules.
- Coordinates material deliveries for the team with the "No Material on the Floor" plan, with the expediting team.
- Ensures compliance with customer quality program.
- Ensures the quality of work to corporate standards and project requirements.
- Conducts staff meetings with foremen and field personnel, addressing management issues as well as safety and productivity improvements.
- Responsible for projects' financial labor, material, and other cost-type budgets and goals.
- Works with the BIM department to coordinate fabrication breaks and signs off on fabrication documents for production.
- Maintains company culture, team-driven mentality.
- Implements field productivity improvements, assures project compliance and quality assurance.
- Ensures customer satisfaction.
- Works a six-day week, ten-hour per day shift.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of verifiable experience as a Plumbing/ HVAC Superintendent.
- At least 5 years of experience in LARGE ($20M+) Data Center projects.
- Must have OSHA 30 card.
- Effective computer skills with programs such as Excel, Word, email, and Procore along with verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Versed in the industry and the Company's competitors.
- Ability to multitask and perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary.
Physical/Work Environment Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Climbing stairs, walking long periods of time.
- Remaining in a stationary position, often kneeling, standing, or sitting for prolonged periods.
- Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
- Loud environment
- Light work that includes adjusting and/or moving objects up to 20 pounds.
