About the role
The Security Supervisor plays a crucial role in maintaining the security of data centers, ensuring compliance with client requirements and regulatory frameworks like SOC 2 and ISO. Reporting directly to the Security Manager, this position oversees and coordinates security operations, ensuring the highest level of safety and integrity.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate shift-based security operations, including access control, surveillance, and patrols
- Ensure all security officers adhere to post orders, SOPs, and site-specific protocols
- Maintain and manage access control systems, badge issuance, visitor management, and escort procedures
- Oversee CCTV and alarm systems, ensuring timely response to alerts and anomalies
- Act as the first point of escalation for incidents, emergencies, and operational issues; ensure proper documentation and reporting
- Conduct preliminary incident investigations and support root cause analysis
- Ensure compliance with SOC 2, ISO standards, and all client-driven security requirements
- Perform routine site inspections, audits, and quality assurance checks
- Cook up with the Security Manager and client stakeholders on daily operations and escalations
- Lead shift briefings, training, and ongoing coaching for security personnel
- Manage staffing levels, scheduling, and coverage to meet operational demands
- Support emergency preparedness efforts, including drills and response coordination
- Maintain accurate logs, reports, and metrics related to security operations and incidents
Qualifications
- 3–5+ years of experience in physical security, preferably in a data center or critical environment
- Prior supervisory or team lead experience required
- Strong understanding of access control systems, CCTV, and security operations
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as SOC 2 and ISO
- Excellent communication, leadership, and decision-making skills
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-security environment
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and remain active for extended periods
- Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions
- Ability to navigate uneven terrain and active construction areas
- Ability to lift up to 40lbs as needed
- Ability to respond quickly to incidents and emergencies
Work Environment
- Remote site in Afton, TX with limited nearby services
- Active construction environment with heavy equipment and ongoing operations
- Outdoor work in extreme weather conditions and in an office setting
- Uneven terrain requiring mobility and situational awareness
- Strict adherence to PPE requirements is always mandatory within designated construction zones and while operating site vehicles including UTVs
