Data Center QA/QC Specialist - Site Inspector

Our client is seeking a Site Inspector or Cx QA/QC Specialist with expertise in Electrical and Mechanical Commissioning to join a high-performing project team driving the quality assurance and quality control program for large-scale, mission-critical data center construction projects in Amarillo, Texas.

Responsibilities
The role will involve leading the charge in ensuring world-class reliability, safety, and operational excellence, working alongside a dedicated project team, and being hands-on with cutting-edge electrical and mechanical infrastructure—from L1 through L3 commissioning.
The daily responsibilities will include:
- 60% Hands-On Field Inspections, L1–L3 Testing Verification, FAT Reviews, and Deficiencies/Retesting
- 20% Team Collaboration (Working with Energy Marshalls, GC/Trade Contractors, Engineering, and Client Reps)
- 20% Documentation, Reporting, MOPs, & System Turnover Handoffs
The technical breakdown of the role will be:
- 50% Electrical Commissioning (Switchgear, PDUs, UPS Systems, Transformers, Generators, Energization Readiness)
- 50% Mechanical Commissioning & Systems (CRAC, VFDs, Pumps, TAB, Integration)
Requirements
Required skills and experience include:
- 2–5+ years of direct Cx-QA/QC experience in data center, mission-critical, or large-scale industrial construction environments
- Strong hands-on testing experience and deep knowledge of both Electrical and Mechanical commissioning across all phases of the Cx cycle (L1–L3)
- 7+ years of total field construction experience with a strong background in QA/QC processes, NCRs, and ITPs
- Expertise in electrical distribution systems (low, medium, high voltage) as well as mechanical systems and TAB
- Proficient with industry platforms and software such as CxAlloy, Bluebeam, Procore, or similar tools
- Ability to work on-site in Amarillo, TX (6x10s schedule) or execute weekly travel/temporary relocation
Desired skills and experience include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- Professional certifications such as Certified Commissioning Professional (CCP), Professional Engineer (PE), or LEED AP
- Experience acting in an Owner’s Representative or 3rd-party QA/QC Inspector capacity
- Deep familiarity with industry codes and standards including IEEE, NEC, NFPA, and NETA
