Responsibilities
- Collaborate with program representatives to coordinate and incorporate applicable quality expectations into the Black Box Quality Management System (QMS).
- Engage and influence operational personnel to comply with installation specifications documented within the Black Box QMS standard.
- Conduct formal Gemba walks to review Work in Progress (WIP) and completed scopes of work, including internal and external stakeholders to share and promote technical knowledge.
- Contribute to the development of QA tools that promote a quality-awareness culture.
- Partner with field staff for the implementation and execution of Innovation, Lessons Learned, Right First Time, and Standards quality elements.
- Coordinate and conduct timely WIP quality inspections prioritized by production status and risk management as represented in the P6 project schedule.
- Train and coach internal employees to integrate quality awareness into daily activities.
- Develop installation and technical standards, procedures, inspections, and reporting documents in partnership with relevant teams.
- Drive continuous improvement activities and support Lean initiatives aligned with corporate strategic goals.
- Issue, record, monitor, and close nonconformance reports.
- Participate in GC and client quality programs as required.
- Trend data to identify recurring issues and conduct corrective action verification audits for non-conforming observations.
- Participate in structured problem-solving to determine root causes, effective countermeasures, and scale best practices as Lessons Learned.
- Network across intra/inter-site QA organizations to share best practices and learnings, anchoring them into standards.
- Verify materials from CFCI and OFCI sources meet design specifications.
- Ensure site as-built design documentation is accessible and sourced by field staff.
- Provide rapid responses to high-priority nonconformances and resolution activities.
- Facilitate project pipeline planning related to data center builds.
- Serve as a technical resource for Black Box structured cabling standards, installation standards, build specifications, and industry standards.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- OSHA 30-Hour certification (must be obtained within six months of employment if not certified at hire).
- CommScope and/or BICSI certifications (e.g., IN225, IN250, TE350) preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of field experience installing and testing fiber.
- Structured cabling and/or Data Center cabling experience.
- Experience in training technicians and quality standards preferred.
- Proven work experience in infrastructure deployment.
- Ability to implement and monitor a Quality Management System.
- Strong communication, coaching, and collaborative skills.
- Analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude.
- Strong oral/written communication and organizational skills.
- Disciplined, detail-oriented, organized, and self-starting.
- Ability to plan and prioritize tasks efficiently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
- Willingness and ability to travel as required by Black Box.
