About the role
The Data Center Project Manager will drive high-impact, large-scale tech infrastructure projects within fast-growing data center development teams.
Responsibilities
- Oversee procurement activities, including soliciting bids, reviewing proposals, and selecting qualified subcontractors and suppliers.
- Lead on-site project meetings to ensure alignment between construction teams, vendors, and stakeholders.
- Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and other critical project documentation.
- Ensure all project deliverables meet quality standards through routine site inspections and adherence to specifications.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve design issues and ensure constructability.
- Drive project kickoff and closeout processes, ensuring thorough documentation and smooth handoff.
- Track project financials, analyze cost trends, and report variances proactively.
- Coordinate equipment and material deliveries to support efficient, uninterrupted construction workflows.
- Support the commissioning and turnover process for data center systems and infrastructure.
- Facilitate communication across disciplines to ensure alignment on scope, schedule, and technical requirements.
- Promote a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement across all project phases.
- Manage vendor performance and ensure contractual obligations are met.
- Assist in developing project execution plans and construction methodologies tailored to data center requirements.
Requirements
- Strong background in construction project management, ideally with experience supporting projects within the business services or commercial construction sectors.
- Proven track record of managing multiple concurrent projects with competing priorities and deadlines.
- Exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to coordinate with clients, internal teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
- High proficiency in project management software and digital tools (e.g., Procore, MS Project, Bluebeam).
- Demonstrated commitment to maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and compliance.
- Strong ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
- Proactive, self-driven approach with the ability to thrive in a collaborative yet autonomous work environment.
- Strong leadership presence with the ability to motivate teams and drive accountability.
