About the role
As a Project Manager I, you will provide oversight and coordination of projects/programs with medium to large scopes and/or complexity. You will lead project and program team members, manage communication with internal and external stakeholders, and ensure the overall success of project execution.
Responsibilities
- Project Management
- Oversee and coordinate all aspects of project execution and client experience.
- Develop project proposals, contracts, and project budgets; support proposal development on larger/more complex projects.
- Plan and coordinate project deliverables.
- Manage client service and project communication.
- Monitor and ensure adherence to budgets and financial expectations.
- Responsible for overall project performance and contributing to efforts to improve performance and ensure consistent adherence to applicable quality standards.
- Manage and maintain relationships with project sub-consultants.
- Program Management (where applicable)
- Develop program contracts, project fee matrices, and create specific program project fees; support these activities on other projects as needed.
- Manage client service and communication for specific program projects and support program-level communication.
- Oversee and coordinate all aspects of specific program scheduling and program project execution.
- Quality
- Monitor project quality expectations.
- Ensure deliverables meet project objectives and quality expectations.
- Understand the scope of work and fees to mitigate risk throughout the project life cycle.
- Provide technical insight on project production when applicable.
- Recognize project conflicts and proactively work with stakeholders to resolve.
- Client Experience
- Serve as the primary project/program contact and brand ambassador.
- Maintain regular communication with clients and sub-consultants to ensure satisfaction with the project process and engineering work product.
- Manage client views toward the best solution and resolve project-related conflicts.
- Respond to client requests and questions, balancing the interests of internal and external stakeholders.
- Partner with sector and practice leadership to support business development strategies within their sector or practice.
- Team & Technical Leadership
- Direct the activities of project/program team members and oversee Project Coordinators as needed.
- Proactively advise, coach, and mentor less experienced Designers, Engineers, or Project Managers.
- Provide oversight or guidance on project execution and communication.
- Make recommendations to practice, operations, and/or technical leadership to align training, development, and mentoring of project staff.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, science, technology, or business preferred. Four years of relevant experience within the AEC or Professional Services industry will be considered in lieu of requisite education.
- Eight years of relevant experience required, including a minimum of four years cumulative of project management experience.
- Proficiency in project management standards and execution required.
- Intermediate knowledge and understanding of building design and construction principles required.
- Project management certification preferred.
- PE license recommended.
- Must demonstrate proficiency in all core competencies as described and characterized in the job description.
- Self-starter with the ability to influence and motivate others to achieve goals.
- Excellent track record of effective collaboration, communication, and organization skills.
Physical & Other Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
