About the Role

Work with a world-class team to develop, implement, and support cutting-edge Oracle technology in Cloud Data Centers. This role involves leading teams responsible for the availability of Oracle’s Cloud Infrastructure in data centers in Northern Virginia (Manassas, Ashburn, and Sterling). You will manage physical sites, operational teams, and colocation partners, ensuring seamless 24/7 support for mission-critical environments.

As a Data Center Manager, you will provide leadership, direction, and operational excellence across multiple sites, working collaboratively with global peers to maintain consistency and avoid variability. This position requires a local presence and may include overnight shifts as business needs dictate.

We seek an experienced leader with strong people management skills, business acumen, and deep technical expertise in large-scale IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will balance all three attributes, driving team growth, operational efficiency, and project delivery in a fast-paced, hyper-scale environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage teams responsible for the day-to-day operations of Oracle Cloud Data Centers in a 24/7 mission-critical environment.
  • Oversee installation, Field Change Orders, and hardware break/fix activities across multiple data center locations.
  • Define, document, and manage project scope, expectations, implementation approaches, deliverables, and acceptance testing criteria.
  • Develop and execute risk mitigation strategies for projects and operational activities.
  • Drive timely delivery of services and tasks to meet project milestones, collaborating with project managers to provide on-the-ground support.
  • Ensure quality benchmarks are upheld for new sites, regions, and deployments, acting as the gatekeeper for standards.
  • Lead capacity expansions at all scales, including rack additions, block additions, white space growth, and new site launches.
  • Manage escalations for rapid resolution and conduct after-action analyses for incidents.
  • Recruit, hire, and grow high-quality team members with a passion for excellence, fostering a culture of continual improvement and learning.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and leadership to managers and individual contributors across the organization.
  • Participate in talent reviews, performance management, and other people-management processes.
  • Negotiate and coordinate with local vendors, driving performance and expectations while ensuring compliance with local laws, policies, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources, Environment Health and Safety, and other departments to ensure the well-being of Oracle employees.
  • Work effectively with distributed teams, architects, engineers, product managers, QA, and documentation teams to deliver expansion projects on time and with high quality.
  • Implement processes and standard methodologies to streamline operations and scale efficiently.
  • Report progress, KPIs, and incidents effectively to senior management, demonstrating critical thinking and adaptability.
  • Prioritize tasks dynamically, shifting focus as needed to meet immovable deadlines and business objectives.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of confirmed IT leadership and management experience in the technology market, preferably in data center or cloud infrastructure environments.
  • Strong knowledge of the Data Center ecosystem, including cooling, electrical systems, networking, and structured cabling.
  • Experience managing hardware and vendor relationships, including negotiations.
  • Proven ability to influence thinking and gain acceptance in sensitive situations, acting as a change catalyst.
  • Deep technical grounding in the physical aspects of IT service delivery, including server, storage, and networking devices.
  • Experience managing multi-discipline teams at scale in a Cloud Data Center environment.
  • Ability to navigate local customs, laws, and employment directives while managing diverse teams.
  • Fluent in English (written and verbal).
  • BA/BS degree preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.

Pay

Hiring range in the U.S.: $114,600 - $234,600 per year. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral. Oracle maintains broad salary ranges to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations.
