Data Center Manager, DCC Communities
About the role
The successful candidate will manage people with varying skillsets, devise strategies, mentor staff, sponsor projects, and propose technical solutions for data centers in various operational stages. This role may involve travel to active data center sites for training.
Responsibilities
- Prioritize and assign trouble tickets to data center technicians and operators
- Routinely review ticket queues for large events and address accordingly
- Coordinate change management resources
- Guide, train, and educate data staff on best practices related to service owner issues
- Manage and deliver mid-size projects
- Recommend, document, and oversee policies and procedures to meet industry best practices and SLAs
- Manage a diverse team of data technicians with varying skills
- Maintain the on-call schedule coordinating absences and vacations
- Recruit and train data technicians to ensure appropriate staffing levels
- Host weekly staff meetings
- Write and deliver performance reviews for staff
Requirements
Candidates must be a US citizen and possess and maintain an active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility. After start, the selected candidate must obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph and satisfy other security-related requirements. The position requires the candidate to opt into a commensurate clearance for each government agency for which they perform AWS work.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of people management experience
- 4+ years of Information Technology (IT) experience, or Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent
- 3+ years of operations and on-call support for data center facilities, mission critical plants, or production facilities, or 1+ years of operations and on-call support for data center facilities, mission critical plants, or production facilities experience
Skills
Experience in project or program management, strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities.
